2000 solar panels for a sustainable future

Henco has successfully completed the installation of 2,000 solar panels on the roof of our distribution center in Herentals. These panels will provide 7 percent of our total energy needs, a significant step in our sustainability strategy. At Henco and our parent company Aalberts, sustainability is a high priority. Manufacturing Director Geert Jacobs explains: "Our transition to more sustainable products and processes has been underway for several years. We aim to remain leaders in the industry."

Jacobs adds: "In addition to our energy-efficient products for water distribution, we continuously improve our processes. We have recently installed charging points for the electrification of our fleet, reduced the use of packaging materials, and minimized waste." Our collaboration with Earth has led to the swift and efficient installation of the solar panels. Luc Demeyere, CEO of Earth, says: "Commercial rooftops offer tremendous potential for the energy transition. We are pleased that Henco has chosen us to realize their sustainability ambitions."

With more than 300 employees and an annual production of 130 million meters of pipe and 11 million fittings, Henco continues to strive for a greener future. Our roadmap to becoming carbon neutral by 2050 focuses on efficient energy use and reducing CO2 emissions. The completion of this project is an important milestone on our sustainability journey. We look forward to producing our first green energy and remain committed to a more sustainable future.
