Henco innovates with the Pro-Sprinkler system

Henco enters the market with Henco Pro-Sprinkler. It is an innovative system that guarantees that sprinkler holders installed in concrete are perfectly perpendicular. This innovation increases safety and prevents excessive costs and delays at the construction site. A first customer reference is an immediate standout: the prestigious Eurostaete project in Eindhoven.

No one can doubt that sprinkler systems are critical. These systems reduce fire fatalities by up to 80% and limit damage by up to 45%. This in turn results in more favourable insurance rates. Henco specialises in flexible plastic multilayer pipes for sprinkler systems. These are not installed surface-mounted but are “embedded” in concrete.

    Embedded systems on the rise

Embedded sprinkler pipes provide a space saving of 15-20 cm per floor. This is roughly an extra floor in a 20-storey building. Aesthetically, these provide more design freedom and optimal space utilisation as there are no visible pipes that get in the way. These are safer too as there is no risk of damage due to loose materials. Illegal interference with the pipes is also impossible.

The new Henco Pro-Sprinkler now adds another important benefit: the 100% perfectly perpendicular positioning of the sprinklers. This is critical for ensuring a sprinkler system works properly as it then covers every square metre as envisaged in the design plan. In contrast, other systems with a sprinkler holder installed off-centre are exceedingly costly in time and money as these require cutting into concrete and rebar to fix.

    Every construction method is possible

Ludo Martens, Product Manager at Henco: “The foundation for the Henco Pro-Sprinkler is a reinforced concrete element that remains perfectly positioned during the pouring of the concrete slab. Fastening onto the concrete element is possible depending on the construction method used (wood, metal or wide slabs/precast slabs) whether it’s magnets, bonding or screwing.”

Pro-Sprinkler is BIM-ready and was developed as a complete range for any type of construction, concrete, steel or timber.  The range includes all pipes (including 32 mm in rolls), fittings and accessories. Except, of course, the sprinkler head. Henco’s solution means fewer fittings are needed, no welding work is needed and the fittings have Leak Before Press functionality.

    Focus on reducing workload

The new Henco Pro-Sprinkler system was first presented at ISH 2023 in Frankfurt and is now finding its first applications in large projects. These include the prestigious Eurostaete project in Eindhoven. Eurostaete will be the new landmark for the city at more than 100 metres in height and 30 residential floors.

Henco is increasingly positioning itself as a complete supplier and provider for installers. So, the Eurostaete project is an excellent example of how Henco puts its slogan ‘We care to connect’ into practice, said Martens: “We won this project not purely based on price, but by collaborating from the early stages and coming up with the right solution together. Collaboration, reducing workload and a strong focus on service for every customer - big or small - typify Henco’s business.”
